We exist to help people responsible for making work work.
That's founders, CEOs, directors, senior managers and people leaders — anyone with responsibility for other people, budget or organisational performance. Not a consultancy brochure, not a podcast microsite: one problem-first knowledge platform that helps first and sells second.
Al Elliott
Co-founder & Host
Al is co-founder of Oblong and co-host of Truth, Lies & Work. He's built and sold businesses, including one that ended in personal bankruptcy — an experience he talks about openly because it's part of why Oblong exists. He focuses on the commercial and practical side of leadership: what founders and managers actually do differently once they understand the psychology behind a problem.
Leanne Elliott
Co-founder & Lead Consultant
Leanne is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist, co-founder of Oblong and co-host of Truth, Lies & Work. She created the RX7 framework for workplace culture and is Oblong's lead consultant. Her focus is taking something about work psychology that feels big and intimidating and making it understandable enough to actually act on.
How Oblong works
Truth, Lies & Work is our flagship podcast and a major source of reach — but it's one way we publish, not the whole of what we do. Articles, tools, expert interviews, research and real Workplace Surgery questions all live here, organised around the problems leaders actually have, not the format they happen to come in.
We'd rather help you solve part of a problem for free and earn the right to hear from you again, than put everything behind a form. If something here is useful, the best next step is usually just staying in touch.
Get the best ideas for making work work. Every Tuesday.
We're not another newsletter blasting everyone the same thing. Tell us what's going on and we'll curate the two or three things a month genuinely worth your time.
